Shilajit In Ayurveda

In the Charak Samhita, Shilajit is described as a product of four minerals: gold, silver, copper and iron, whereas Susruta Samhita included two more minerals, lead and zinc in its composition. According to the predominance of the minerals of the source, rock, it was classified into four categories: Sauvarna, Rajat, Tamra and Lauha.  The last variety Lauha Shilajit or blackish-brown Shilajit is common and is supposed to be most effective. Charaka Samhita mentions that without the aid of Shilajit no curable disease can be alleviated.

According to Susruta Samhita 15,32-40, that obesity can be cured by taking enemas of drugs with liquefying properties which contain minerals like Silajatu, cow’s urine, the three myrobalans, honey, barley etc. Traditionally people use it with pure milk to enhance energy, sexual and spiritual power.

Shilajitis a Sanskrit word meaning “conqueror of mountains and destroyer of weakness.” It is also spelt as Shilajeet, and is known by various other names like Shilajita Mumiyo; Mineral pitch, Mineral wax or Ozokerite in English; Black Asphaltum; and Asphaltum punjabianum in Latin.

Ancient Indian yogis, and practitioners of Aurvedic medicine, on understanding several potent qualities of Shilajit, had attributed divine powers to Shilajit. In essence Shilajit is a natural concentrate of plants of the regions of the Himalayas, and is found in the Himalayan ranges in India, Nepal, Pakistan, China, Tibet, and part of Central Asia and Scandinavia. The flora of the Himalayas is rich and varied, and for thousands of years the plants have come to life, absorbed nutrients from the soil, and then died out. This is a process which has been repeated again and again countless times, and continued for millennia. It is believed that Shilajit found in the Himalayas are the fossilized form of those plants, and the particular biosphere of the Himalayas created them and bestowed medicinal qualities to them. Shilajit, found in the higher altitudes of the Himalayas, are collected during summer months when the ice melts, and Shilajit lumps are sometimes spotted and collected from the crannies of rocks, and similar places. Shilajit so collected are processed by several drug manufactures and presented in capsule form for human consumption.

Puri (2006) in his book has devoted one chapter to Shilajit. He has given in detail about the study of Shilajit in the last two centuries and the various speculated sources of Shilajit. The Indian workers considered Dendroid euphorbia” as the source but in Ladakh faeces of mountain mouse were considered the source. In Russian literature, it is said to have formed by compaction of Junipers. Scientific studies reveal that it is humus like compound. Dr. Peter Zahler (1998 and 2002) has commented on the relationship of the occurrence of Shilajit and the Woolly flying Squirrel and Dr. Carman (unpublished) has reported his observations of mammal pellets (Woolly Flying Squirrel and Afghani Pika) in association with Shilajit deposits in northern Pakistan. These pellets are the so called “pallet” in photomicrographs described by Faruqu (1997).

Origin of Shilajit

Many researchers claim that Shilajit exuding from the rocks of mountains is basically derived from vegetative source. Several shlokas of Susruta Samhita and Rasarangini also maintain this point of view. According to Sushruta, in the months of May-June the sap or juice of plants comes out as gummy exudation from the rocks of mountains braes due to strong heat of sun. Rasaragini, Dwarishtarang also claim that the Shilajit is an exudation of latex gum-resin etc. of plants which comes from the rocks of mountains in presence of scorching heat. But the exact source of the origin of Shilajit is still under controversy.

There are several hypotheses regarding the origin of Shilajit:

Shilajit and Health

Shilajit is most important drug for many diseases. It was used as a drug in prehistoric periods. There is evidence of Shilajit (Silajatu) in the Indus civilization.

Traditionally it is used as power increasing tonic.

The following health properties are found in Shilajit:

Counteracts debility and General fatigue

One note of contraindication: there are unconfirmed reports on the web that shilajit can, for some individuals, cause a reduction in the production of the neurotransmitter, serotonin—which can lead to mild depression during the use of the product. We noted no such response in any of our own staffers, or among ayurvedic practitioners we spoke with-in fact, more times than not, people reported just the opposite. Individuals with a history of depressions, should, however, note these reports and be vigilant as to their own response. Any adverse experience should cause you to immediate discontinue use of the product.

What We Know About Humic & Fulvic Acids: Not Enough

Is there a scientific basis for the claims that end users make about Shilajit, some of which, to the outsider, seem outrageous?  We know that Shilajit is primarily composed of fulvic acid.  We also know that fulvic acid rests at the end of the life cycle: it is the end product of nature’s humification process.  It contains all of the phytochemical protective substances, amino acid peptides, nucleic acids, etc. from the original plant matter.  Numerous ongoing studies on the medical applicationsof Shilajit have been going on in China since 1978 with astonishing clinical results.  For those who don’t want to wait for the pharmaceutical companies to get involved and figure out a way to monopolize an extract… there’s Shilajit.

Shilajeet

Ancient Sanskrit holy texts, over 3,000 years old, make reference to a mysterious substance called shilajit, which they describe as the “destroyer of weakness.”  The texts list its powerful health and spiritual benefits and the positive changes that shilajit brought in the lives of those who used it.  The sacred substance was prescribed for thousands of years for many different health problems and became a powerful tool in Ayurvedic medicine.  There is some indication that shilajit may have been the priceless soma of the Eastern alchemists.

The rediscovery of the power of shilajit is said to have been made by Himalayan villagers observing large whit monkeys migrate to the mountains in the warm summer months.  The monkeys were seen to be chewing a semi-soft substance that flowed from between layers of rock.  The villagers attributed the monkey’s great strength longevity and wisdom to the strange substance.  They began to consume it themselves and reported a broad spectrum of improvements in health.  It seemed to give them more energy, relieve digestive problems, Increase sex drive, improve memory and cognition, improve diabetes, reduce allergies, improve the quality and quantity of life and it seemed to cure all diseases.

The ancient Vedic text Rig Veda states that soma” has mountains and stones for its body” and “dwells within the mountainous rock where it grows. “Mountainous rocks are the “abode of soma,” and it is “plucked from between the rocks by mountain dwellers and brought to the priests-alchemists who prepared the soma by washing and grinding and cooking.”  Soma was considered the elixir of immortality, the secret substance used by alchemists to perfect both body and mind.

Shilajit must be harvested from sacred cliff sides high in the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal.  Millions of years ago, before the Himalayas were formed, a lush garden flourished in a vast fertile valley.  The vegetation in that primeval garden became trapped and preserved as the movement of the continents caused that valley to become the tallest mountain range in the world.  Today, mills of years later the monsoon rains and extreme freeze and thaw conditions work together to crack large rock formations, exposing the precious shilajit.  Because of its ancient nature, the vegetation was never exposed to any type of fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide, or pollution.  The native Nepali people collect and carry this gift of nature down the mountain, where it is alchemically processed into a potent, high-quality extract.

This ancient wisdom was passed from generation to generation among the Indian and Nepali alchemists and holy men, but it escaped the notice of the Western medical establishment until the last days of the twentieth century, when explorer John Anderson heard of the amazing benefits of this substance and refused to give up the search until he found its source. He journeyed throughout India and Nepal until he learned of the perilous harvesting the raw shilajit from the cliffs.  He also documented the reams of Sanskrit studies showing the rare plant’s benefits.  He spoke firsthand with more than fifty Indian and Nepalese researchers that have been studying the wonderful effects of shilajit and perfecting the processes for delivering the purest, most concentrated shilajit ever know to man.

Over sixty years of clinical research have shown that shilajit has positive effects on humans.  It increases longevity, improves memory and cognitive ability, reduces allergies and respiratory problems, reduces stress, and relieves digestive troubles.  It is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and eliminates free radicals.  The research proves that shilajit increases immunity, strength, and endurance, and lives up to its ancient reputation as the “destroyer of weakness.”

Technically, shilajit is an exudates that is pressed out from layers of rock in the most sacred and highest mountains in Nepal and other areas.  It is composed of humus and organic plant material that has been compressed by layers of rock.  Humus is formed when soil microorganisms decompose animal and plant material into elements usable by plants.  Plants are the source of all our food and humus is the source of plant food.  Unlike other soil humus, shilajit humus consists of 60-80% organic mass.

About 200 million years ago, India was a large island off the Australian coast separated from the Eurasian continent by the Tethys Sea.  The Indian continent drifted north at a rate  of about 9 meters a century.  This movement lead to the eventual disappearance of the         Tethys sea.  Fifty million years ago, the Indian continent collided with the Asian continent.  This caused the sea bed of the Tethys sea to be pushed up and deep moving up to eventually form the Himalayan mountains.  The Himalayan mountains continue to rise more than 1 Centimeter a year.  During this transition the mineral rich and fertile soil of the sea bed gave rise to a lush and dense tropical jungle.  As the ground continued to pushed up to become mountains a lot of the plants became trapped by layers of rock and soil and remained preserved for thousands of years.  These plants had never been exposed to any chemicals, fertilizers or pesticides.  They are gradually transformed into humus, a rich organic mass that is food for new plant life.

What are humic substances?  They are the sum total of all once living organisms, mostly plants, disassembled by nature’s brilliant decomposition and recycling processes, then highly refined by millions of species of beneficial soil-based microorganisms.  Ultimately, microscopic plants such as yeast, algae, mold, fungi, etc., finish up the process.  These tiny beneficial plants refine, purify, combine, and re-refine, until tons of once-living matter are converted to pounds and ounces.  Yet miraculously, when it is all said and done, the end product is not inert basic “dead” mineral elements, but is transformed into the world’s most complex and ultra-compact molecules.  Even the nucleic acids, RNA and DNA, of the earlier life-forms remains intact.  The molecules are ultra-condensed and highly functional, rolled up into tight little balls that are supercharged biochemical and phytochemical powerplants, similar to storage batteries of fuel cells.  Where did this supercharged power come from?  It is sunshine light energy captured during plant photosynthesis, and through decomposition it is converted and stored within the interior of the world’s most refined and complex molecules.

Humic substances are considered nature’s own best medicine for plants, animals, humans, and the Earth itself.  This lowly soil substance has the ability to clean up the Earth’s environment, neutralize radiation and deadly toxins, heal the agricultural lands, fuel the spark of life in living organisms, disarm and kill infectious pathogens, destroy the deadliest viruses, prevent most, if not all diseases, and even cure and restore diseased and damaged tissues and organs in plants, animals, and man.

Buckminster Fuller, one of America’s best known thinkers of the twentieth century, helps us to understand plant energy accumulation from photosynthesis.  Visualize if you will, a log burning in the fireplace.  When asked “what is fire” Buckminster explained, in a rather lengthy discourse, that fire is the Sun’s radiation unwinding, each growth-ring of the tree’s log representing a year.  He explained that many years of the Sun’s flame winding through the sky, absorbed by the tree through photosynthesis, is now unwinding in the burning log.  With a log of firewood, lump of coal, oil, natural gas or gasoline, all of which are remnants of once living plants, it is easy to see and understand solar energy storage and release.  With the humic substances, it is not so clear to see because they don’t readily burn.

Humic substances are found in rich humus soil in trace amounts.  They are also found in massive ancient plant deposits, never truly fossilized, still remaining completely organic.  What makes their stored solar energy so different?  The key is found in nature’s decomposition and refining process. The energy is converted into a different form.      Coal, oil, tar, natural gas, and uranium deposits, all are “dead” inorganic remnants of ancient plants.  Uranium mines, just kike coal mines and tar pits, also have fossilized trees, leaves, and dinosaur bones, all remnants of ancient life turned to rock.

Uranium ore is rock, and doesn’t burn, or does it?  Ponder how a few pounds of seemingly inert refined uranium ore has the power to fuel the reactor in a nuclear power plant, or become an atomic bomb.  Where is all of that energy stored?  The power is dep within complex molecules, and is released through nuclear fission, the splitting of the atom’s nucleus.  Could there be a similarity to the seemingly inert humic substances?  Humic substances are not radioactive, but quickly and effectively neutralize radiation.  This is well established and extensively documented.  Where does that nuclear energy go?  Could it be that controlled nuclear fusion is taking place, the joining of atoms’ nuclei?

It is certain that a different form of equally intense latent solar light energy is found deep within the humic substance molecules.  The many rare earth superconductor elements that humic substances contain may provide some clues.  Humic substances have the amazing power to molecularly bond with and transform, other molecules and substances, liquefying them, making them smaller, more condensed, and energizing them.  A tremendous, well controlled fusion or fusing power certainly exists.

With Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) analysis, scientists can see and untangle complex organic molecules, categorizing similar portions of the highly complex molecules into functional groups, which relate to more commonly known substances.  This allows us to discover the many valuable components hidden in the complex humic molecular structures.  The varieties of smaller, more recognizable, molecules found within the highly complex humic molecules, read like the “who’s who” of the many pharmaceutical and nutritional breakthroughs of the last century.  Many of the substances are the current focus of the most promising ongoing medical and health research studies.

In a nutshell, humic substances consist of an immense arsenal and array of powerful phytochemicals, biochemicals, supercharged antioxidants, free-radical scavengers, super oxide dismutases, nutrients, enzymes, hormones, amino acids, antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals, etc.  Many of the substances that make up humic matter have yet to be discovered and catalogued among the known and documented organic chemicals.

Due to microbial action and the tremendous pressure from the weight of the Himalayan mountains, the ancient humus was transformed into a dense, viscous, mineral rich mass. This is shilajit.      The trapped layers of shilajit become exposed due to the freezing winters, hot summer sun and erosion from monsoon rains.  Shilajit will “flow” out from between the cracks in the layers of rock during the summer when the temperature of the mountains gets warm enough and the shilajit becomes less viscous.  The native Nepali people them climb the mountains, repel down cliffs to collect the magical substance.

The therapeutic actions of the raw material vary by the region it is harvested from.  There are other substances that contain humic and fulvic acids, but true shilajit has a very important therapeutic, bioactive ingredient that is not present in other “shilakit-like” substances.  The authenticity and therapeutic quality of shilajit is identified by the inclusion of oxygenated di-benzo alpha pyrones.  While there are several areas from which the raw material is collected, the highest levels of therapeutic ingredients come from specific areas in the Himalayan mountains in Nepal at 10,000-12,000 feet above sea level.  Historic records report that these “sacred” mountains produce the best shilajit.  The processing of the raw Shilajit is very important as it contains free radicals and may also contain mycotoxins and fungal toxins.  The processing removes these free radicals, polymeric quinine radicals, toxins, mycotoxins, and other inactive ingredients.

The producers of Shalagen use a patented oxygen/nitrogen displacement extraction process that ensures the proper PH and increases the active ingredients by approximately 800%.  They also use a standardized extract, so the same high levels of active ingredients are in each bottle.  Instead of using a sawdust filler as do other producers, Shalagen includes proven healing compounds such as ashwagandha, ginkgo biloba, bacopin and trace minerals to aid in the absorption and synergy of the primary shilajit ingredient.

It should be noted that statements and studies on this page have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.  You must use Schalagen as a nutrition supplement and determine its effectiveness yourself.

SHILAJIT generally speaking is a concentrated historic plant life essentially from the Himalayan region.  Himalayan region encompassing India, China, Tibet and parts of central Asia was home to rich plant life right from the prehistoric times.  The plants absorbed various nutrients and minerals from the soil to form rich and green vegetation.  The life of trees and plants there extended to many hundred and even thousands of years.  After their time the plants returned back to earth along with the minerals.  This process continued over a period of many centuries.  These remains of the plant life in the specific climatic condition and altitude of Himalayas formed the mineral pitch known as SHILAJIT.

SHILAJIT contains more than 85 minerals in Ionic form and FULVIC ACID.  We use a patented method of processing Shilajit which includes reverse osmosis and freeze drying.  The FULVIC ACID concentration in our shilajit is anything between 60% to 75% - the highest ever.

In Sanskrit the literal meaning of Shilajit is “Rock Like” – the power to make our body like a rock enabling it to withstand the ravages of time.  Shilajit has the unparalleled powers of arresting and reversing the aging process.  Indian Yogis on seing the powers of Shilajit considered Shilajit to have divine powers capable of healing the body of virtually any ailments and above all preserve our youthfulness

Ancient Chinese and Indian literature mention of Shilajit as Amrit or Elixir of evergreen life and fountain of youth.Indian Yogis widely used Shilajit.      It is not uncommon to find many Indian Yogis even aged 100years in Himalayan regions and above having similar Stamina and Body structure of a youth.

Mythology of Shilajit

Shilajit has extensive mention in ancient Hindu literature.  King Chandra Varma who is supposed to have ruled much of Northern India had to spent most of his youthful years in Governing the vast empire, waging wars and protecting it from enemies.  When there was peace and stability in his kingdom he was past 50 years of age.

He wanted to enjoy the pleasure of life.  He unfortunately found that he had lost most of his youthfulness and could not enjoy the natural pleasure of life despite having enormous material richness and power.  He then went on penance in the mountains of Himalayas and prayed to Lord Shiva – Prime most among hindu gods and considered the originator of Yoga.  Lord Shiva was pleases with his prayer and offered him a substance  originating from his body.  That restored King Chandra Varma’s youthfulness. That substance is Shilajit and is found mostly in Himalayan mountains.      King Chandra Varma who was the first to take Shilajit is considered immortal and still revered even now by local populace in India.  Lord Buddha who was originally born into a royal family is considered as one of the descendants of King Chandra Varma.

There is also extensive mention of Shilajit as a powerful aphrodisiac and restorer of youthfulness in The Kama Sutra – the most widely read treatise on sex.

Shilajit was first discovered in Modern  times by British Explorer Sir Martin Edward Stanley during 1870s  when India and Nepal were part of the British Empire.  Most of the monkeys in plains of northern India age and bald by the time they reach 10 years of age.  Sir Edwad Stanley on his exploration in higher altitude of Himalayas to his surprise found there was hardly any monkeys with aged look in his months of expedition.  He subsequently observed that monkeys there regularly ate something from earth near the rocks.  That was a odd behavior as monkeys do not eat anything from earth.  He observed that the monkeys ate a blackish mineral pitch oozing near the rocks.  The locals there called it “silajitu”.  Only some Indian Yogis there knew how to treat and purify silajitu and it was offered to very select people there.  This was mention in his book.

“The present invention relates to the useof Shilajit or extracts thereof in vitamin and /or mineral compositions; to vitamin and/or mineral compositions containing Shilajit or extracts thereof and to methods to restore energetic balance or intensity, or to support or enhance a bio energetic field in a mammal using Shilajit or extracts thereof.”

“The present inventor has found that Shilajit over and above its nutritional and herbal content has vovel energetic properties.  Measurement of subtle energy changes indicate that Shilajit has a vibratory field that is substantially stronger than any vitamin, mineral, food substance or herb.

The present inventor has also surprisingly found that when a small amount of Shilajit is added to a vitamin or mineral preparation, the energetic properties of the vitamin or mineral preparation are enhanced.

“This invention relates to shilajit compositions, can particularly to purified shilajit compositions obtained from native shilajit, which compositions have an abundance of defined bio-active constituents and are devoid of toxic components, and to personal care, pharmaceutical and nutritional use formulations thereof”

“Aging  and its associated problems are degenerative diseases.  The aging process involves the action of highly reactive free radicals, produced systemically, which interact with other cellular compounds and produce oxidative damages and eventually kills cells and tissues and impairs the immune function of the organism” Such free radical damage accumulates and increases with age, creating degenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s cardiovascular, arthritis, cancer and over a hundred other diseases.

“Native shilajit is a blackish-brown exudation, of variable consistencies, obtained from steep rocks of different formations found in the Himalayas at altitudes between 1000-5000 m,.  Shilajit also is found in other mountain ranges of the world, e.g. Afganisthan (Hindukush, Badakh-Shan), Australis (Northern Pollock Ranges), and in the former USSR (Tien-shan, Pamir, Caucasus, Ural). Native shilajit is believed to arrest aging and also produce rejuvenation”

From the time we are born our internal organs are continuously at work without rest.  This causes wear and tear of internal organs and decay of the body cells.

Electrical potency of the Cell is the single most aspect of body cells survival.  Along with the chronological age the electrical potential of the cell continuously decreases leading to weakness and decreased power of the body cells.  Ultimately when the electrical potential of the cells become zero the cell disintegrates and dies.

Decrease in electrical potential of the Cells bring about decrease in Energy metabolism.  Energy metabolism is the internal Biological reaction in our body cells – deep in the mitochondria and protoplasm of our cells converting mass into energy.   Metabolism is generally divided into two functions.

Anabolism or Constructive Metabolism – In this the food we eat – Carbohydrates, fats, proteins, minerals and Vitamins go into building up of new cells and tissues.
Catabolism or destructive metabolism – This includes the chemical reactions that break down complex molecules into simpler ones for energy production, for recycling of their molecular components, or for their excretion.

After certain age an internal degeneration process sets in the body.  It is widely accepted and proven that for men the energy level, stamina, potency and functioning of the internal organs peaks at the age of 21 years. From then on a wear and tear sets in the internal organs of the body.      In the case of men starting from age of 21 there is a continuous decrease in electrical potency of the body cells.

For women youthfulness peaks at the age of 18 years.  Starting from 18 years onwards there is a decrease in hormonal levels, lower secretion of body fluids, slowing of metabolism, low levels of stamina, high levels of fat build up and greater wear and tear of internal organs.

The stress of Modern day life, pollution, lack of exercise and orientation towards junk food aggravates the process of aging & degeneration further.  The body cells loose their electrical potency faster leading to decreasing levels of energy metabolism.

Another major reason for many modern day diseases and faster aging process is Chemical farming.  Modern day chemical farming depletes the soil and the plants wer consume of naturally available Minerals.

Wrinkles on skin, thinning hair, receding hemlines, tendency to put on more weight inspite of consuming less food, decreasing energy & stamina, decrease in level of sexual life, susceptibility to major degenerative ailmentsare the signs that mean that aging process is setting in our body.

Major degenerative ailments are Diabetes, Cancer, heart diseases, osteoporosis, joint pains, Alzheimer’s Parkinson’s and other form of dementia.  The extent to which aging process and degeneration has set in these days can be seen from the medical statistics.  The number of cancer patients are increasing by hundreds of thousands every year.  Even school children are being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.  There are around 20 million diabetics in America as on 2006 with millions joining ranks every year.  Heart diseases are taking a heavy toll on American economy.  Even in early thirties joint pains seem to set in for most.  Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s are fast becoming household names and is affecting even those who are in mid thirties.

Why does the aging and degenerative process sets in our body?

Dr. Linus Pauling categorically stated: “You can trace every sickness, every ‘disease and every ailment to a mineral deficiency” Dr. Pauling was the only scientist to win Nobel Prize twice unshared.

Our body cells needs minerals more than anything else if we if we have to arrest the natural degeneration process and stay young for a very long time.  Minerals act as the catalysts for metabolic reactions and biological functions within the body and are required for the assimilation of all vitamins.  Without minerals, the vitamins are not of any use.

We may be consuming food rich in minerals and Vitamins.  We may be taking wide range of Mineral supplements. But the body cells can never have sufficient minerals.      There are two main reasons for this.

The minerals that are taken as over the counter – OTC like tablets, tonics etc. are in pure inorganic – metallic form also known as the colloidal form.  For example you can get calcium directly from the earth as well as from the eggs.  The Calcium in eggs is in ionic form and is absorbed in a much better way than the raw calcium.  Moreover raw calcium if taken in excess will cause more damage than any benefit.  The minerals we find in all the tablets and pills are in raw inorganic form.  The Calcium example applies to all the 85 Vital minerals that our body cells need.Even if the minerals are in Ionic form they have to be absorbed by the cells.      As the body ages the cell walls become thick and it becomes increasingly difficult for the minerals to be transported into the cells – to the Protoplasm.

Thus we see that our body celsl do not get sufficient minerals and as a result they are also not able to absorb the vitamins also.  This is the major reason why aging and degeneration sets in.

SHILAJIT – FULVIC acid as an anti aging elixir

Shilajit contains 84 types of minerals in natural ionic form which are very vital for maintaining the equilibrium of energy metabolism in our body.  The minerals in Shilajit are not similar to the mineral supplements available in market.  These minerals are in ionic form and have previously been absorbed by rich plant life and returned back to earth.  So they are easily absorbed by the body cells.

FULVIC ACID the major ingredient of the Shilajit plays a vital role in penetrating the cell walls and transporting the minerals in tothe cells.      This is the most important property of the Shilajit that helps in arresting and reversing the aging process.

Fulvic acid is rapidly on it way to developing into the health of healing miracle of the 21st century.  Scientists and doctors throughout the world are beginning to discover fulvic acid and are recognizing its extraordinary potential.  Interest in the medical community has been escalating rapidly in the past few years.

Fulvic acid is created in soil in the presence of micro organisms and humus (decayed plant life) so that the minerals can be transported from the soil to the plants in faster and easier manner.  Fulvic acid is the best ever known electrolyte.

The power of an electrolyte has been shown in separate tests on animal cells (giant amoebae), to be able to restore life in what researchers termed “a beautiful demonstration” and “astonishing”.  When the electrolyte potential was taken away from the cell during the test, the cell ruptured and disintegrated into the surrounding fluid causing death.  The electrical potential of the body cell is reduced to zero at death,  These studies show convincingly the physical well being upon reintroducing electrical potential.  The cell reconstructed and became active and healthy.

SHILAJIT thus acts in following ways

Shilajit contains 85 minerals essentially derived from the plant life in ionic form.

The Fulvic Acid in Shilajit transports these minerals through the cell walls thereby maintaining and restoring their electric potency.  This also ensures that the vitamins are absorbed by the cells – as the body cells cannot process vitamins in the absence of minerals.
Once the electric potency of the cells is maintained and sufficient mineral supply is achieved, it prevents the decay and death of cells.
Finally the energy metabolism process – catabolism and anabolism is maintained to equilibrium condition.

Shilajit thus effectively arrests and reverses the aging process.

Shilajit can significantly reduce the chances of developing degenerative ailments like Cancer, diabetes, heart diseases, sexual debility, osteoporosis, rheumatism, joint pains, dementia ets.

Shilajit and Weight Control

With Shilajit there is absolutely no place for excess flab and fat in our body.  We may have often been given the politically correct advice on reducing weight as “The only way to reduce weight is to eat less and do more physical activity”.  It may seem to be logically right.  But there would not be around 1200 Million in the world who are obese or overweight if it was actually so.

Most of us may be wondering how is that during our teenage years inspite of having the rich food and very little physical activity we were putting on less weight.  But in our mid twenties and above we tend to put on more weight, loose our stamina and energy levels even though we may be on strict a diet control and undergo stringent physical exercise.  Energy metabolism process slows down with age.  This the reason why more fat is being stored on our body instead of being converted to energy.  This ultimately leads to excess body weight and decrease in energy levels with age.  Shilajit effectively maintains the optimum energy metabolism.  This means that most of the excess calories you consume is burned off and is not converted into fat.

Shilajit is said to cure almost any ailment – Understandably a younger body and cell can withstand and heal itself of any ailments.  Any amount of words may not do justice to the wonder that is Shilajit.  It is best experienced.  We recommend Shilajit for all from the age of 18.  If you are a woman Shilajit will ensure that you stay in  your youthful charm for a very long time.  Something which rigorous diet regime, physical exercise and any amount of beauty products cannot ensure.

If you are a man it will keep your vigor, vitality and energy at optimum levels.  Shjilajit restores youthful vigor to the entire body.

Within 10 day you should begin to feel the difference – The Power of Growing Young.  Make that most important investment – Investing in yourself….in your Youthfulness.

Whatever be your age – be it 28 or 82 we assure that you will find yourself much younger, having more stamina and more energy.  Shilajit rebuilds and regenerates from within.  This will clearly reflect on your skin.  This is unlike the wide range of skin creams and treatments which are merely cosmetic and superfluous in nature.

Please note that all the claims made by us about Shilajit is not just a marketing gimmick on our part.  We have thousands of users of Shilajit from more than 60 countries in the world and all the 50 states in the US.  Most of the new users of our shilajit are referred by our existing clients.

Modern Discovery

In the modern time, Sir Matin Edward Stanley, a British explorer during his expeditions to the Himalayas, in 1870, observed that monkeys on the gangetic plains became old by the time they were 10 years old, whereas the monkeys on the higher altitudes continued to be highly active and agile even during old age.He notice that the monkeys at the higher altitudes continued to be highly active and agile even during old age.      He noticed that the monkeys at the higher altitudes were eating a rock like melted material oozing out from rock crevices when the ice cover melted during the summer months.  The local people called the substance Shilajit, and its healing properties were well-known to them for long.

Conclusion

Shilajit is a humus rich blackish-brown substance, which is very useful in many diseases and serves as a potent tonic. But its source of origin is still under controversy. Traditionally it is also considered to increase virility, cure diabetes, and in Ayurvedic medicine system of India, it is used against various diseases.

Shilajeet or Shilajit (Mineral Pitch in English) is a herbo-mineral drug ejected out of fissures in iron rich rocks, during hot weather. According to the reference literatures related to Mineralogy, Shilajit is oxygenated hydrocarbon of different types, Amorphous is nature G=1-1.8, lustre. Is that of Black Pitch, Melting point 90-1000C.? It gives bright flame when burnt. It is soluble in turpentine.

Many herb collectors claim that in different parts of India other than Himalaya, it is present naturally but the experts are not agree with them. It is considered as rich man’s drug. For poor, in the name of Shilajit many false material are available and due to lack of information regarding correct identification, the poor are using false materials with great loss to their health’s. The traditional healers of Chhattisgarh are well aware of medicinal properties and uses of Shilajit.

Shilajit’spopularity as sex tonic and aphrodisiac has created confusions among the natives in various parts of India. Many senior citizens interested in using Shilajit are hesitating to take Shilajit because of these wrong information’s

Although many healers and Pharmaceutical companies use it without purifying it properly, it is warned that that can cause side effects, if it is used impure. For purification, it is dissolved in cow milk. When the dust particles settle in bottom, the solution is filtered in other vessel with the help of muslin cloth. After filtrations, the solution is kept under the sun and by drying milk, pure Shilajit is collected and used in treatment.

The traditional healers are aware up to how long it should be given and at what doses? In general, the healers suggest the users to take more and more cow milk during use period of Shilajit. As it is soluble in milk, inside the body the intake of milk helps in proper utilization. Spicy and heavy food is strictly prohibited. The healers are aware that any herb having the capacity to break Kidney stones (Renal Calculi), if given, during the use period, it will also try to dissolve the Shilajit and as result the Shilajit will come out from the body. This is the reason, the proper guidance of healers is necessary. We have seen many Shilajit based formulations available in market but unfortunately, these instructions and precautions are not mentioned in the packets. In ancient Indian literatures especially in Charak Samhita it is mentioned that Kulthi (Dolichos biflorus) should not be taken during the use of Shilajit, Kulthi is well known herb used in treatment of Renal Calculi.

Shilajit is not a recently developed product or a brand name. It is a substance that is so old that it is described in detail in ancient Hindu texts. “Shilajit” (properly pronounced Sil’-i-jeet”) literally means “conqueror of mountains & destroyer of weakness” in Sanskrit. In the ancient Charak, it is described as a substance for which “there is hardly any curable disease that cannot be assisted.”

A bituminous substance found in the lower Himalayan Mountains, Shilajit has been elevated over thousands of years in terms both commonly practical and deeply spiritual. In its native state, Shilajit is a compact mass of vegetable organic matter composed of a dark gummy matrix-thought to be largely theresult of humification of the plant Styrax officinalis Linn and/or Euphorbia royleana Boiss. It is gathered from stone formations, either on the ground or from fissures in the rocks. Before refinement, Shilajit is a semi-hard, brownish black to dark, greasy, black resin that has a distinctive smell and taste. Many health benefits are attributed to Shilajit by regular users who live near the Himalayan Mountains. It us known as a strong kidney tonic and is said to increase the body’s core energy, responsible to sexual and spiritual power (which is why some have nicknamed it “Indian Viagra”). It is, therefore, considered an anecdote for anxiety and stress .
